The .45 is real weapon for combat, the 9mm is good for cops but not for combat troops. Glad you made it Doc.

I was a Navy Corpsman(E-5) when the change over between 45. & 9mm. I was non-plus. I did like the accuracy of the 9 but, specially on multi shot engagements. Something abt the Colt, that was nice. Maybe the familiarity of the weapon. Like a Bic ligter. It just feels right. I digress, I nipped a guy durin DS/DS. G+1 He went down w/ GSW RT Tib/Fib Open. On the hold it was a shitty day, but I made it thru, again. I was 30 yrs old, and that was 19 yrs ago. You gotta luv life, beats the hell out of the alternative.

And as for getting out of 'league of nations' type international organizations; I'll be the first one to give them the bum's rush.
I've tracked down some more links for your review. They're worth a look. Thanks for posting, Sean.

My was an officer for the tribal police in WA until she moved out of state but recalled that right before the Olympics (since they're right across the border with Canada) security had been bumped up. Her demeanor was very innocent; as though augmenting local and state police with federal agencies was so needed. I saw this differently. If feds (and I used to be one) are out and about doing traffic stops (Border Patrol) instead of doing their assigned missions then one has to take pause and wonder if one) are LE agencies that short on personnel or two) augmentation of forces is a sign of a federal encroachment on states' rights to administer the rule of law. In this video, the guy smacks of anti-anything but fortress america type but he makes some interesting points: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnuDZg6yl3A. Here is another observation of a federal agency working outside the scope of its mission: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iweOvgzVWh4. These are trends that those of us who were LE and military quickly pick up on and wonder...
